Arrive to Fairbanks International Airport and meet your tour guide. You will be taken to your hotel for a short rest. Dinner will be served which will be followed by a scheduled departure to the suburbs for aurora viewing at the cabin at 10:00 PM. After the viewing, arrive at the hotel around 2:00 AM for rest.
After breakfast, we will take a dog sled ride across the snowy plains. Afterwards, we'll travel by bus to the Ice Museum and soak in the hot springs at Chena Hot Springs Resort. After we will arrive back at the hotel.
This morning, depart Fairbanks by car and travel along the famous Dalton Highway. Along the way, you'll visit the Yukon River, North America's fifth-longest river, and explore another of humanity's greatest and most difficult feats: the oil pipeline that runs north-south through Alaska. Finally, you'll reach the Arctic Circle in Alaska, conquering the frozen expanse near the North Pole and receiving an Arctic Circle Expedition Certificate. You'll then return to Fairbanks by car, with a chance to see the Northern Lights along the way. You'll arrive at your hotel around 2:00 AM for the night.
The morning will be open for leisure, and to help recuperate from the late night yesterday. In the afternoon we will leave for Santa Claus's House in Arctic Village, followed by a visit to the Morris Townsend Cultural and Tourism Center. After these visits, you may visit the Museum of the North Pole at your own expense. Afterward, return to the hotel for the night. Depart for the northern lights viewing cabin in the mountains. All late night Northern Lights excursions are optional, if you would like to skip any, please let us know in advance.
Today, you'll travel by car to Anchorage, Alaska's largest city and major transportation hub. Along the way, you'll see the majestic Alaska Range, the snow-capped Matanuska and Susitna Valleys, and breathtaking views of Denali National Park and Preserve. Relax and admire the beauty of nature, and witness the depths of the ice and snow up close. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel to rest and recharge for the next day's city and surrounding attractions.
In the morning, meet in the hotel lobby and head to Earthquake Park on the shores of Cook Inlet, offering excellent vantage points for photographing downtown Anchorage. Then, visit Turnagain Arm, where the shimmering Youlan Glacier and the majestic Chugach Mountains complement each other, creating a breathtaking scene. After lunch (at your own expense), you'll have some free time to shop at the department stores and Alaska Native artisan shops on Fourth and Fifth Streets in downtown Anchorage. The diverse selection of unique souvenirs will leave you captivated and captivated. You'll then visit the Captain Cook Memorial. In the evening, you'll visit Anchorage's renowned Seafood Restaurant to sample wild Alaskan seafood, including king crab.
We will leave in the morning to climb Matanuska Glacier, the largest glacier in Alaska and is accessible by vehicle. It is approximately 26 miles long and 4 miles wide. It is classified as a valley glacier, meaning it is part of a solid ice sheet. It began drifting approximately 10,000 years ago, and over the past 20 years, no significant mass change has been observed. Because Matanuska Glacier is a climatic vent, cold air within the glacier forces the glacier to move.
We will transfer you to Anchorage International Airport to catch your flight back home.
