About this Tour

​Take a tour through the world’s first national park and monument as well as many other famous landmarks. This tour takes you to the world’s first national park, Yellowstone and national monument, Devils Tower. Starting off in Salt Lake City, you will travel through the Grand Tetons and take in this massive mountain range. In Yellowstone, see vibrant colors and exploding geysers. Afterwards, enjoy one of the symbols of America, Mount Rushmore. Finish off the tour with exploring the Black Hills of South Dakota and see the world’s largest statue.

Itinerary

+ Day 1: Salt Lake City – Antelope Island State Park – Hill Aerospace Museum – Salt Lake City

If time permits after pickup from Salt Lake City International Airport, we will explore parts of Salt Lake City.

Temple Square*
The heart of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, featuring historic buildings including the Tabernacle and Conference Center.

Utah State Capitol*
A neoclassical landmark modeled after the US Capitol.

Antelope Island State Park
Located near Salt Lake City, Antelope Island is home to free-ranging bison, pronghorn (antelope), bighorn sheep, and many other desert animals. In addition to these larger animals, millions of birds line the shore offering unmatched bird watching opportunities. Here you also have amazing views of the Great Salt Lake and the opportunity to take a dip in the lake.

+ Day 2: Idaho Falls – Jackson Hole – Grand Teton National Park

Idaho Falls
Located between Salt Lake City and Yellowstone National Park, Idaho Falls is the ideal stopping point. While there, you’ll be able to check out the long man-made waterfall that the town is named after.

Jackson Hole
Here we will stop for lunch and explore the area known for it’s cowboy culture, artwork, and antler arches.

Grand Teton National Park
Your tour guide will drive you through Yellowstone and reach Grand Teton National Park. This national park gets its name from the Teton Mountains that run through the park, one of the youngest mountain ranges in North America. We will take you to these mountains as well as Jackson Lake and Jenny Lake. Take a cruise on Jackson Lake while also getting a good view of Mount Moran. Learn a bit about local history, geology, and folklore and take in the sights, With knowledgeable guides, you will also learn about the flora and fauna that surrounds the lake. Jenny Lake is also an option to tour, please ask us for more details if you are interested.

+ Day 3: Yellowstone – West Yellowstone

Yellowstone National Park
Over the next few days we will explore more than 13 major attractions found in Yellowstone National Park.

West Yellowstone
West Yellowstone is a small town immediately west of Yellowstone National Park. After arriving in West Yellowstone, you’ll be able to eat dinner and then explore the town’s many gift shops. Finally, we’ll drop you off at your hotel, giving you time to rest and prepare before the next day’s journey.

+ Day 4: Finish Yellowstone National Park Exploration – Cody

Yellowstone National Park
We will finish visiting the rest of the places in Yellowstone that we didn’t get to yesterday.

Cody
After exploring Yellowstone National Park, we will continue on to Cody by driving through Shoshone National Forest. Named after Buffalo Bill Cody, the town of Cody is celebrated for its strong Western heritage and its close association with the legendary figure who helped establish it in the late 1800s. We will further explore this town tomorrow.

+ Day 5: Cody – Sheridan – Devils Tower National Monument – Deadwood Town

Cody
After breakfast, we will visit Buffalo Bill Center of the West, comprising five museums dedicated to showcasing the rich history and culture of the American West. After our visit to the Buffalo Bill Center, we’ll continue our journey by driving to Sheridan. We’ll have the pleasure of enjoying lunch at a local family-run restaurant, which is renowned for embodying true Rocky Mountain hospitality.

Sheridan
Sheridan, Wyoming is a unique and beautiful town that offers a blend of Western history, natural beauty, and modern amenities. It is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the history and culture of the American West. It is often referred to as “Wyoming’s Jewel” due to its natural beauty and rich history. The town was founded in 1882 and quickly became an important center of commerce and culture in the region.

Devils Tower National Monument
This historic monument is known for its hexagonal shape and significance to Native American culture. This monument is also open for rock climbing. If you are interested in rock climbing here, please let us know so we can get that set up for you.

Deadwood
Spend an evening exploring the town’s rich history and legendary characters firsthand. Check out the saloons or if you come during the main season, historic reenactments of famous characters like Buffalo Bill and Calamity Jane.

+ Day 6: Crazy Horse Monument – Mount Rushmore Memorial – Custer State Park – Rapid City – Casper

Deadwood
This privately funded statue is the largest in the world. Beginning in 1947 and standing at nearly 600 feet tall, this statue is still being carved. This memorial was made as a way to celebrate the Native American hero and has never been funded by the US government in order to avoid potential influence on the statue. Come enjoy this memorial, listen to more from our guides, and visit the museum.

Mount Rushmore National Memorial 
Mount Rushmore stands proud of one of the most popular tourist destinations in the United States. Into the mountain is carved four presidents, each chosen by Borglum based on his perspective on their influence of the most important events in United States history.

Custer State Park
Named after the Army General, Custer State Park is surrounded by granite peaks and grassy plains. Within the park is an abundance of wildlife, hiking, swimming, and many other adventures. There is something here for everyone to enjoy. Today you will get to choose one of the following adventures: Ziplining, Rushmore Mountain Coaster, or Horseback Riding. Please let us know ahead of time which one you would like to do so that we can make reservations your chosen activity.

Rapid City*
Rapid City, South Dakota offers a unique mix of history and science, starting with a surprising piece of world history at Memorial Park, where a preserved segment of the Berlin Wall stands as a powerful symbol of unity and freedom. Nearby, the Museum of Geology showcases ancient fossils, minerals, and prehistoric life, offering a hands-on glimpse into the region’s geologic past.

Casper*
Experience a night in Casper City, also known as the “The Oil City,” with a rich history of oil boomtown and cowboy culture. There are plenty of things to do from the Tate Geological Museum to the Nicolaysen Art Museum. Additionally, Casper City hosts various annual events, such as the Central Wyoming Fair and Rodeo and the Casper Marathon. 

*You can choose to fly out either tonight or tomorrow morning. If you opt to leave today, kindly schedule your flight for 7 PM or later to allow for any potential traffic we may encounter on our journey. We will drop you off at Rapid City International Airport in the afternoon.

Independence Rock
Today, Independence Rock is a state historic site and a popular destination for visitors interested in learning about the history of the Oregon Trail and the pioneers who traveled it.

To accommodate any possible traffic delays during our trip, please ensure that your flight is scheduled for 7 PM or later. We will take you directly to the airport to be dropped off.
