Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Welcome to Nepal, the enchanting Himalayan nation where adventure meets tradition. Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will be waiting to greet you and assist with your transfer to your hotel in Kathmandu. After settling in and taking some time to rest, you’ll enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional Nepalese restaurant in the heart of the city. During dinner, you’ll receive a brief orientation about your upcoming journey. The evening concludes with an overnight stay at your hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley
After breakfast, we’ll set off on a guided tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage cultural sites. Highlights include the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the towering Bouddhanath Stupa, one of the largest in the world, and the iconic Swoyambhunath Stupa, affectionately known as the Monkey Temple for its lively resident monkeys. We’ll also explore the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, home to centuries-old temples, intricately carved palaces, and the residence of the Kumari, the living goddess. In the evening, we’ll gather for a brief orientation and meet our trekking crew, building excitement for the journey ahead.
Day 3: Kathmandu — Daksinkali — Chobhar — Kirtipur — Patan — Bhaktapur — Dulikhel
After breakfast, we’ll begin the day with a visit to Dakshinkali Temple, one of Kathmandu’s most revered Hindu shrines. Dedicated to the fierce goddess Kali—whose name translates to “black”—the temple is known for its vivid rituals, including animal sacrifices offered by devotees. From there, we’ll stop at Chobhar Gorge, located just 8 kilometers southwest of Kathmandu. According to legend, this dramatic cleft in the hills was created by Lord Manjushree to drain a great lake that once filled the valley. We’ll also explore Kirtipur, a historic city rich in both Hindu and Buddhist traditions, known for its temples and storied past.
Day 4: Dulikhel — Panuati Village — Changu Narayan — Kathmandu
Today’s journey takes us through some of Nepal’s most spiritually significant and culturally rich sites. We’ll begin with a visit to Namobuddha, a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site where legend tells of a compassionate prince who offered his life to save a starving tigress and her cubs—an act that marked his path to becoming the Buddha. The serene atmosphere and panoramic mountain views make this a truly moving experience.
Day 5: Kathmandu — Chitwan
After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we’ll set off on a scenic drive to Chitwan National Park—Nepal’s premier destination for wildlife and jungle experiences. Upon arrival, we’ll check into our lodge and take some time to settle in and refresh. You’ll then receive a briefing about the park’s unique ecosystem, the exciting activities planned, and important safety information to enhance your visit. In the afternoon, we’ll begin our first round of jungle adventures, immersing ourselves in the rich natural surroundings. The day concludes with a hearty dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Chitwan.
Day 6: Chitwan National Park
Today is dedicated to a full day of safari adventures, guided by our expert jungle naturalist. The highlight of the day is an unforgettable elephant-back safari through the dense jungles of Chitwan National Park—a rare chance to get up close with the region’s incredible wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for one-horned rhinoceroses, wild deer, sloth bears, leopards, and if fortune favors us, the elusive and majestic Royal Bengal Tiger, one of the world’s most endangered big cats. In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a peaceful canoe ride down the Rapti River, gliding past marshes and spotting crocodiles along the riverbanks. This journey ends at the elephant breeding center, where you’ll visit government-protected stables and observe pregnant elephants and their playful calves. We’ll also stop by the Hattisar (elephant stable) to learn about elephant care, witness an elephant bath, and gain insights into daily life in the Tharu community. As evening falls, you’ll enjoy a traditional dinner accompanied by the rhythmic Tharu stick dance and folk music—an energetic cultural performance that captures the spirit of the region. Overnight stay in Chitwan.
Day 7: Chitwan National Park — Pokhara
This morning begins with a peaceful bird-watching walk through Chitwan National Park, a paradise for bird enthusiasts. With over 250 species of resident and migratory birds, the park offers an exceptional opportunity to observe Nepal’s rich avian diversity up close—binoculars in hand, we’ll quietly explore the area, hoping to spot kingfishers, hornbills, egrets, and many more. After the birding session, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast, pack our bags, and begin the scenic drive to Pokhara. This journey takes us along Nepal’s main highway, passing through charming rural villages, lush hillsides, and alongside rivers popular for white-water rafting. Upon arrival in the tranquil Pokhara Valley, we’ll check in to our hotel and take some time to relax and refresh. Later in the day, we’ll head out to explore Lakeside, the vibrant heart of Pokhara, where cozy cafés, local shops, and stunning views of Phewa Lake offer a perfect introduction to the city. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Day 8: Pokhara
Rise early this morning for a scenic drive to Sarangkot (1,592 meters), a famed viewpoint offering one of Nepal’s most breathtaking sunrise experiences. As the first light of day touches the snow-capped peaks of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, and the distinctive Machapuchare (Fishtail), the Himalayas reveal their majestic splendor—an unforgettable sight, weather permitting. After soaking in the views, we’ll return to the hotel for breakfast. Our day continues with a peaceful excursion around Phewa Lake, including a visit to Brindabashini Temple—a serene hilltop shrine dedicated to Goddess Parvati, nestled amid lush greenery. We’ll then explore the sacred Gupteshwor Mahadev Cave, known for its intricate rock formations and spiritual significance. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure. Wander along the lakeshore, explore the colorful local markets, or relax in one of the many cafés that line Pokhara’s charming Lakeside district. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Day 9: Continue exploring Pokhara
Enjoy a relaxed morning at your leisure, perfect for a peaceful lakeside stroll or some last-minute shopping in Pokhara’s vibrant markets. In the afternoon, we’ll drive to the base of the World Peace Pagoda hill, followed by a short, scenic walk to the summit. Perched high above Fewa Lake, the gleaming white World Peace Stupa is one of the largest in Nepal and offers sweeping views of the Pokhara Valley, shimmering lake, and the distant Himalayan peaks. After taking in the serene ambiance and panoramic vistas, we’ll descend through a tranquil forest trail to the lakeshore. From there, you can choose to return to the city with a scenic boat ride across Fewa Lake or opt for a drive back to Pokhara. The evening is free to explore more of the city’s lively Lakeside area. Overnight stay in Pokhara.
Day 10: Pokhara — Bandipur — Kathmandu
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll begin our return journey to Kathmandu, traveling through the scenic hills and valleys of central Nepal. Along the way, we’ll stop in Bandipur—a picturesque hilltop village that was once a key trading post along the historic India-Tibet route. With its beautifully preserved Newari architecture, cobbled streets, and panoramic mountain views, Bandipur offers a peaceful glimpse into traditional Nepalese life. We’ll then continue the drive along the Trishuli River valley, passing through terraced fields and rural countryside that capture the charm of Nepal’s heartland. Upon arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll check into our hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure—perfect for unwinding or taking a short walk through the city. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu
Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and spend your remaining time shopping and making final purchases around Kathmandu. Later, transfer to Kathmandu Airport. We’ve enjoyed embarking on this journey with you, and we look forward to seeing you again!
