Itinerary

+ Day 1:  Salt Lake City Arrival or Departure – City Highlights – West Yellowstone

Departure Time: 9:00–9:30 AM from Salt Lake City (SLC Airport or select hotels).

Begin your winter Yellowstone journey with pickup from Salt Lake City International Airport or your selected Salt Lake City hotel. The day's program will be arranged according to your arrival time, confirmed departure schedule, winter road conditions, and overall travel safety.

Flight Arrival Guidelines:
Guests arriving after 12:00 PM, or when winter road conditions are unfavorable, will be transferred directly to the hotel in West Yellowstone or suitable en-route lodging for rest and overnight stay.

Guests arriving before 12:00 PM, or guests joining the tour from Salt Lake City at 9:00–9:30 AM, may enjoy a complimentary half-day Salt Lake City highlights tour, subject to weather, timing, accessibility, and the confirmed itinerary.

Salt Lake City Highlights
Possible sightseeing stops may include Temple Square, the Utah State Capitol, and the Great Salt Lake area. During the winter season, the Great Salt Lake may offer wide-open snowy landscapes and beautiful reflection views when conditions allow.

After the sightseeing program, continue north toward West Yellowstone. Depending on winter road and weather conditions, overnight accommodation will be arranged in West Yellowstone or suitable en-route lodging.

+ Day 2:  Yellowstone National Park – Winter Snow Coach Adventure

Approximate Duration: 8:00 AM – 4:00/5:00 PM

After breakfast, travel to the Yellowstone winter entrance for a full-day snow coach adventure into the park's snowy interior. Board a heated snow coach and explore Yellowstone's geothermal landscapes, wildlife corridors, and winter scenery with the guidance of professional winter park staff.

The exact route and stops may vary depending on weather, road conditions, wildlife activity, and National Park Service arrangements.

Madison Junction & Winter Valleys
Travel through wide-open winter landscapes where bison and other wildlife may be seen moving among steaming geothermal features.

Black Sand Basin & Fountain Paint Pots
Conditions permitting, observe colorful thermal pools, bubbling mud pots, and geothermal features dramatically framed by snow and ice.

Old Faithful & Upper Geyser Basin
Enjoy time in the Old Faithful area and view the geyser eruption according to predicted eruption times. Time is provided at or near Old Faithful Snow Lodge to relax and enjoy your included boxed lunch.

Optional Snowshoe Experience
Conditions permitting, guests may enjoy a light snowshoe walk near the Old Faithful area.

In the late afternoon, return to West Yellowstone. The evening is free for dinner, light shopping, and rest.

+ Day 3:  West Yellowstone – Lava Hot Springs or Alternative Winter Experience – Salt Lake City

After breakfast, depart West Yellowstone and begin the return journey toward Salt Lake City. Today's route will be adjusted based on guest preferences, winter road conditions, weather, and the confirmed return schedule.

Recommended Option: Lava Hot Springs
For a relaxing winter finale, travel to Lava Hot Springs, known for its naturally heated mineral pools. Guests may enjoy time soaking in the warm geothermal waters, a comfortable contrast to Yellowstone's snowy landscapes.

Lunch can be arranged near the Lava Hot Springs area at guests' own expense. This option is recommended for guests who prefer a more relaxed final day and a smoother return route to Salt Lake City.

Alternative Winter Experiences
If guests prefer not to visit the hot springs, or if route conditions require adjustment, the guide may arrange an alternative winter experience, such as one of the following:

1. Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Visit this classic Western mountain town known for its winter scenery, local shops, art galleries, elk antler arches, and cowboy heritage. Enjoy free time at Town Square for photos and shopping when conditions allow.

2. Grand Teton National Park – Winter Wildlife Corridor
Weather permitting, enjoy scenic views of the Teton Range and surrounding valleys. Wildlife sightings may include moose, bison, elk, coyotes, mule deer, bighorn sheep, and other winter wildlife.

3. Hill Aerospace Museum
If winter conditions limit access to outdoor scenic areas, a visit to Hill Aerospace Museum near Salt Lake City may be arranged as a weather-friendly alternative.

In the late afternoon or evening, return to Salt Lake City. Drop-off will be arranged at Salt Lake City International Airport or your preferred Salt Lake City hotel based on your onward travel plans.

Jackson Hole, if applicable: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM

National Park Entrance Fees – Important Notice

For Non–U.S. Residents Only

Effective January 1, 2026, non–U.S. residents are required to pay entrance fees when visiting the national parks listed below. Travelers may choose one of the following options:

Option 1: “America the Beautiful” Annual Pass

  • Price: USD $250 per pass
  • Coverage: Valid for up to four adults (the passholder plus three additional adults, ages 16 and over)

Option 2: Individual Park Entry Fee

  • Price: USD $100 per person, per park (ages 16 and over)

Applicable Parks:
Acadia, Bryce Canyon, Everglades, Glacier, Grand Canyon, Grand Teton, Rocky Mountain, Sequoia & Kings Canyon, Yellowstone, Yosemite, and Zion.

Friendly Reminder:
For travelers visiting two or more national parks, or traveling in a group of two or more adults, purchasing the Annual Pass is generally more cost-effective.
