About this Tour

China unfolds in four distinct acts on this carefully paced journey from Beijing to Shanghai. The story opens amid Beijing’s imperial halls, temple precincts, the Summer Palace, and the ramparts of the Great Wall. Xi’an carries it back to the first emperor, the Silk Road, and the glow of a Tang-inspired evening district. Chengdu changes the rhythm with teahouse life, Sichuan Opera, giant pandas, and the enduring ingenuity of Dujiangyan. Shanghai brings the journey into the present through tree-lined historic quarters, classical gardens, museum collections, and a final night on the Huangpu River.

Designed for first-time visitors who want to experience China’s icons without reducing the country to a checklist, this premium small-group journey combines landmark sightseeing with local rituals and memorable evenings. Departures are guaranteed with four guests, and each group is limited to just ten travelers, allowing for more personal service and a more relaxed way to explore. High-speed rail and a domestic flight connect the four cities efficiently, leaving more time to experience each destination.

4CanGo Small Group Program

Our 4CanGo departures are confirmed to operate as soon as four guests are booked, with a maximum of ten travelers per departure. Once the minimum is met, your trip goes ahead, so you can plan with confidence and enjoy the attentive pace that only a small group allows.

Online booking is set up for parties of four or more. If you are traveling solo or with a group of three or fewer, please contact us and we will arrange your booking directly. We are glad to build flexible arrangements around your preferred dates, group size, and travel style.

Quality of service is our priority. Every Horizon itinerary is planned by a team led by a founder with more than 20 years in the travel industry, specializing in both U.S. national park tours and international travel. We are committed to delivering a personalized and memorable journey.

At the red panda free-ranging habitat, follow a shaded stone path through bamboo and woodland. The reserve’s naturalistic setting offers the chance to look for red pandas among the trees and foliage, making this a memorable and unexpected part of the visit.
